This year the “Grande Boucle” takes place at the end of August and will be the first major Grand Tour of the 2020 season. The curtain will raise on the 107th Tour de France in Nice, where a 21-stage drama will commence and we are looking forward to supporting our sponsored teams more than ever for the final win.Whether a rider is a leader, sprinter or climber, many champions have chosen Full Speed Ahead and Vision components to face the French challenge. Landa is hoping his new role as a prominent GC figure will lead him to victory at a Grand Tour in the colours of Bahrain McLaren.THE WINGMAN: Damiano Caruso – Team Bahrain-McLarenDamiano Caruso is one of the most loyal wingmen in the World Tour, with many years of experience at the highest level. High mountain stages are his speciality, but you will find Caruso riding beside his team leader anytime during the race, ready to help him. Damiano has been part of the peloton since 2009 and is well known for his all-round abilities. Despite mainly playing a supporting role for the teams GC contenders throughout his career, he has obtained notable results in Grand Tours. His consistency has seen him place 8th overall at the 2015 Giro d’Italia, 9th at the 2014 Vuelta a Espana and 11th at the 2017 Tour de France. Damiano will be a crucial rider for Bahrain McLaren at supporting the team’s ambitions in Grand Tours.THE “UNDER 25”: Sergio Higuita – EF Pro CyclingThe Colombian, Sergio Higuita, is one of the most interesting young talents racing in the Pro peloton right now. A mid-race transfer to the WorldTour with EF Education First Pro Cycling in 2019, Sergio was christened the “Higuita Monster” by team boss Jonathan Vaughters because his fresh face belies his killer instincts out on the road. Those instincts netted Sergio impressive results during his first six months racing the world’s biggest races, including winning a stage during his first Grand Tour, the Vuelta a España. A natural climber, Sergio dances downhill, packs a punch in the sprint and is a crafty bike handler, making him one of the most versatile riders in the bunch.THE SPRINTER: Elia Viviani – Team CofidisThe 2016 Rio Olympic Champion and European defending champion Elia Viviani of Team Cofidis has been chosen as the official sprinter of the team, beating the competition of Dylan Groenewegen of Team Jumbo-Visma and Ivan Cortina of Bahrain-McLaren. Featuring the innovative ACR System on his handlebar, the Italian rider will get himself into the mix of sprints, trying to repeat the stage win of 2019 edition in Nancy. THE CRONOMAN: Tom Dumoulin – Team Jumbo-VismaTom Dumoulin, who won the Giro d’Italia in 2017 and finished second in the Tour de France in 2018, will be the co-leader of Team Jumbo-Visma with Primoz Roglic and Steven Kruijswijk. The next TDF route features only one TT stage, a climbing TT stage, but the Dutch champion has all the credentials to compete for the final win. Wout van Aert will be one of the most interesting riders for mixed terrains, but also a strong wingman for the team leaders.THE PILOT FISH: Marco Haller - Team Bahrain-MeridaAustrian born, Marco Haller is a sprinter, classics and one-day racer. He broke into the world tour peloton in 2012 with Team Katusha and has six Grand tours and 17 Classics in his legs. His top results over his career have been a win in the general classification at Tour des Fjords, a stage win at Tour of Beijing and a stage win at Int. Österreich-Rundfahrt-Tour of Austria. Haller will be prominent in the one-day races for Bahrain McLaren and have no doubt his sprinting and leading out abilities will earn more wins to the team.
